Animal Kingdom's Camp Minnie-Mickey closing January 6, 2014
Dec 20th 2013 at 8:20Disney have now officially confirmed that Animal Kingdom's Camp Minnie-Mickey area will close on January 6, 2014.
The closure comes as no surprise, we speculated a few weeks ago that we expected it to close within the first 2 weeks of the new year, and now it's official. Camp Minnie-Mickey will be demolished shortly after closing, and will allow the delayed Avatarland project to start.
Disney have been slowly emptying the area of the park, with its last big attraction being Festival of the Lion King, which will go on a short hiatus, and will reopen around Summer 2014 in a new theater in the Africa section of the park.
