Pal Mickey wireless support ending this week

Sep 23rd 2014 at 8:14

Disney will be turning off the wireless transmitters that send data to the Pal Mickey plush toys later this week.

The infra-red transmitters that were placed around the parks were used to send audio messages to the Pal Mickey to let guests know of events and closures. However since it's introduction, Disney moved on to the MyMagic+ system, providing a much more reliable and accessible method of getting information to guests.

Pal Mickey's were discontinued early in the MyMagic+ planning stages and have not been available at parks for some time now. The final day of operation for the Pal Mickey transmitters will be September 26, 2014.
