Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter combines the fun of the New Orleans Mardi Gras with the romance and charm of the French Quarter. Rooms are set along quaint cobblestone walkways with iron railed balconies overlooking the ornately decorated streets of the French Quarter.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter Rooms

The rooms are themed to match the resorts quaint setting, and each feature either two double beds or a king-sized bed. The king-sized bed rooms are generally reserved for handicapped guests as they feature a larger bathroom with a wheelchair accessible shower instead of a bath tub.

The rooms each sleep 4 people, or 4 plus a child under 3 in a crib (cribs can be requested from housekeeping). Housekeeping can also provide additional items such as irons, ironing boards, hair dryers, extra pillows, blankets and towels. 

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter Recreation

The resort pool, the Doubloon Lagoon, features a sea serpent water slide and a water spouting alligator band. A kids pool and hot-tub are also located close by.

Guests are also free to use the pool on Ol' Man Island, but will need to take their own towels from their room.

For a spot of retail therapy you can take a boat along the Sassagoula River to Downtown Disney where you'll find a large number of shops. Disney's indoor theme park, Disney Quest is also located here, in addition to Cirque Du Soleil.

Other recreation activities at the resort include:

Watercraft Rentals - You can rent Sea Raycers, kayaks, pontoon boats, canoes, sailboats and pedal boats and take them out onto the river.

Playground - Children can climb, slide and play at the courtyard playground, located close to the Doubloon Lagoon pool.

Fishin' Hole - Ol' Man Island offers pole fishing throughout the day.

South Quarter Games Arcade - An arcade with state of the art video games and is located in The Mint building. It is open from 7am to 1am and uses a token system to use the arcade attractions. Guests can purchase tokens in the arcade. Some arcade games provide rewards in the form of tickets which can be redeemed for prizes.

Jogging Trail - A scenic paved trail along the Sassagoula River.

Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides - An intimate 30-minute trip up and down the scening Sassagoula River.

Bike Rentals - Rent either standard or surrey bikes and take a leisurely ride around the riverside pathway.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter Transport

Disney busses run from multiple bus depots located across the resort.

You will be provided with a complete transportation map when you check in  which gives you instructions on how to get to all the different areas on Disney property. To get to the different areas you'll just need to make sure you board the right bus. They display their destination clearly on top, however if you are unsure you can always ask the driver or a cast member. 

The Disney bus transportation system is one of the easiest ways of getting around. Busses depart from the resort to all the parks regularly and are completely free to use at any time. The bus services generally stop running once the parks close, and tend to run for an hour either side of the park hours. During extra magic hours they will run slightly longer.

Water coaches run approximately every 20 minutes. These run between Downtown Disney, Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter Dining

There is only one restaurant located at the resort; the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory Food Court. It offers a range of American and Creole cuisine and is open from 6:00 AM to midnight. Typical menu items include burgers, salads, baked goods, fried and spit-roast chicken, pizza, pasta, sandwiches and fresh fruit.

The resort does also have the Scat Cat's Club, a lounge area with a range of speciality cocktails and house drinks, while jazz music plays in the background.

In-room dining is also offered from 4:00 PM to midnight, and offers a limited menu featuring pizza, salads soft drinks, beers and wine.
