The annual Walt Disney World Marathon takes place every January, and is actually several different marathons over the space of a weekend.

Start/Finish: Epcot
The main marathon event, "The Walt Disney World Marathon" is a 26.2 mile track, taking you through all four Walt Disney World Theme Parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports and the Walt Disney World SPEEDWAY. The marathon starts at Epcot before continuing on to each park in addition to the Wide World of Sports and the SPEEDWAY, before reurning back to Epcot where the marathon ends.
Disney provide entertainment on the course with characters making an appearance along the way. A family reunion area is also provided with live entertainment and more Disney characters.

Start/Finish: Epcot
The half marathon event runs on the Saturday morning of the Marathon Weekend and takes you on a 13.1 mile course from Epcot, through the Magic Kingdom and then back to Epcot. Disney offer this as a great alternative to the full Marathon and ideal for those new to marathon running. As with the main event, Disney provide entertainment along the course, a family reunion area with live entertainment and access to the Sunday after party at Downtown Disney.

Start/Finish: Epcot
Participants take place in the Walt Disney World Half Marathon, in addition to the full marathon on the Sunday, completing a 39.3 mile adventure! If you complete both of the races within the pacing requirements, you are awarded the coveted Goofy medal, in addition to the Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse finisher medals.
Guests taking part in Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge will received all items in both the full and half marathons, in addition to a special Goofy finisher medal.

New for 2014, the Walt Disney World 10K Marathon is a 6.2 mile course through Epcot's World Showcase. The 10K is pegged as being ideal for runners of all skill levels, winding through the scenic surroundings of the World Showcase.

A 5 kilometer (3.1 miles) family run, winding through an empty Epcot. The run starts in the backlot area of Epcot, you enter through the side of the Mexico pavilion, passing all the way around the World Showcase, before leaving the park through International Gateway, where you go behind the scenes and back through the Canada Pavilion. You then go thorough Futureworld, under Spaceship Earth, finishing up between the Universe of Energy and the (defunct) Wonders of Life pavilion.
This run is ideal for the family and lets you see Epcot in a completely unusual state - its empty!

As part of the 5K course, guests with strollers can walk the 5K run with their children. Guests who take part in the Stroller Walk Division will receive:
There is a pacing requirement for the Stroller Walk Division, and is the same as the 5K (maintain a pace of 16 minutes per mile or faster).

The Dopey Challenge is a new addition for 2014 and is pegged as the ultimate challenge. Take part in four days of fun, running a total of 48.6 miles. Participants will take part in the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon. If you manage to complete all races within the pacing requirements set for you, you will be awarded the Goofy Race and Half Challenge Medal, as well as the brand new Dopey Challenge finisger medal. Access to the Downtown Disney After Party on Sunday evening is also included.

The Runners World Challenge provides entry to the Half Marathon, Marathon, Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge and the Dopey Challenge. This is the ultimate challenge, and includes a complete custom training plan, connections with Runner's World experts and editors. You can get full coaching by Runners World experts and editors as well as exclusive advice on training, nutrition and injury prevention, and be treated like a VIP during the race weekend.

The runDisney Kids Races take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Track and Field Complex, and are great for the kids. Located at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, the Disney Health and Fitness Expo holds seminars, training and nutrition events. There are a number of speakers and panellists from the world of running. You can also pick up your race number and runners pack when at the expo. A large selection of Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend Merchandise is also on offer in the large hall.

Pasta in the Park Party is an evening event held for those attending any of the marathons. Guests attend a Buffet Dinner at Epcot, followed by a live DJ, and a reserved viewing area for IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.
