Updates to the Monorail schedule starting from September 27

Disney will be slightly altering the Monorail schedule from September 27, opening each line 1 hour earlier than usual.

The scheduled opening hours were reduced some time ago as work was being carried out to improve safety on the monorail, with the introduction of a new automation system. This involved running new cabling along the monorail line, and refitting some of the front carriages. The extension of the operating hours would indicate that the line-affecting work is either completed, or close to completion.

From September 27, 2014 these will be the new operating hours:

• Magic Kingdom Express Loop
  • ​Stops at: Transportation & Ticket Center (Magic Kingdom Parking Lot), Magic Kingdom
  • Opens: 7:00am
  • Closes: 1 hour after Magic Kingdom closes
• ​Magic Kingdom Resort Loop
  • ​Stops at: Transportation & Ticket Center (Magic Kingdom Parking Lot), Polynesian Village Resort, Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Magic Kingdom, Contemporary Resort, Wilderness Lodge.
  • Opens: 8:30am
  • ​Closes:​ 1 hour after Magic Kingdom closes
• Epcot Loop
  • ​Stops at: Transportation & Ticket Center, Epcot
  • ​Opens: 8:00am
  • ​Closes:​ 11:00pm or 1 hour after Magic Kingdom closes (whichever is earlier)

As before, when the Monorail is not in service, guests can make use of Disney's free bus service and water taxi service.
