Future World is where the action happens in Epcot. The original theme was, as the name says, a Futuristic World. Sadly this has been somewhat lost over the years, however the attractions more than make up for the bland concrete surroundings as Future World hosts what some may consider to be the best attractions in Disney World.
Walt Disney’s original plans for EPCOT was a real working city that would be a real “city of tomorrow” that “will never be completed, but will always be introducing and testing and demonstrating new materials and systems”. Whilst Epcot as a city never came to be due to Walt passing away, many of his concepts and ideas are now found in Future World and of course all across Walt Disney World.
Some notable ‘experimental’ attractions include Living With The Land, where Disney scientists experiment with new ways of growing produce by using their own ideas such as Tomato Trees and creating Mickey shaped cucumbers.
Of course this is just one side to Future World. It also has the fast paced, modern attractions such as Mission: Space, a high speed motion simulator that blasts you to Mars, and Test Track, where you fly round a high speed circuit in an open-top car at 65Mph.
There are a number of other great attractions in Future World such as Spaceship Earth, Soarin’, Universe of Energy and The Seas with Nemo and Friends. We recommend taking a look through the details for each attraction in Future World as there are a fair few!
Restaurant and dining wise, there are four primary restaurants in addition to several snack locations. Restaurants include the Coral Reef Restaurant, Electric Umbrella Restaurant, Garden Grill and Sunshine Seasons Food Court. If you’re in Epcot for the day you may wish to consider visiting the World Showcase as each country has at least 1 restaurant, offering a fantastic selection of food from around the world.
