The World Showcase is set around the World Showcase Lagoon, a large open lake that plays host to Epcot’s firework show “Illuminations: Reflections of Earth”. The World Showcase features eleven countries, each with buildings themed to the style of that country.
As you walk through, you’ll pass from one country to the next and whilst each of these “Lands” sit next to one another, you wont feel that they clash or blend into yet another Disney themed area. They each have a very unique feel to them, right down to the staff who work in each country being from that country.
Typically, each “land” has at least one restaurant and shop, some have more than others but overall you’ll find shops stocked with goods relating to that country (Anyone need any Twining’s Tea Bags? Head to England!). Disney really go all out here. Whilst there are not really any big attractions, the World Showcase is a must do.
Dining at the world showcase is also not to be missed, as there are both counter service and table service restaurants in most countries. Restaurants include the world famous, La Cellier Steakhouse – serving some of the highest quality steak in the world, and Teppan Edo, where your Japanese Chef will cook your meal right at your table. We do strongly recommend booking in advance however as all the restaurants in the World Showcase are very popular.
