Disney World hosts many regular exciting events. Generally you'll find that during your stau there will be a firework show on every night at both Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Both parks feature excelent displays. There are also a number of yearly events, such as the Epcot Food & Wine festival, or the Star Wars Weekend at Hollywood Studios. Wishes: A Magical Gathering of Disney Dreams is the fireworks show held on most nights at the Magic Kingdom. The show is hosted by Jiminy Cricket and the Blue Fairy and is set both on and behind Cinderella Castle, with lighting effects complimenting the fireworks used in the show. The Main Street Electrical Parade is one of the longest running parades and operates at the Magic Kingdom. The show features performers with hundreds of thousands of colored LED lights used to create shapes and costumes.
The Celebrate A Dream Come True Parade runs along Main Street U.S.A at the Magic Kingdom. The show generally runs daily at 3PM, however this is weather permitting. During the parade, floats go up Main Street, decorated with different classic Disney characters on board, encouraging you to "Share your dreams". About half way up Main Street, the floats stop, and dancers that walk in front of them perform.
Illuminations: Reflections of Earth is Epcot's night time firework show, held over the World Showcase Lagoon. This is an extremely well planned and beautiful show. The show received Amusement Today's 2006 Golden Ticket Award for being the top evening show in any American theme park.
A parade at Hollywood Studios, usually performed daily (weather permitting), and features a number of Pixar movie characters from Up, Monsters Inc., Ratatouille, A Bug's Life, The Incredibles and Toy Story. The parade starts at the front of the park and moves along Hollywood Boulevard. The show runs for just under 10 minutes.
Instead of an evening firework show, Hollywood Studios has Fantasmic!, a live action show featuring Mickey Mouse. It's set on an island overlooked by the 6,900-seat Hollywood Hills Amphitheater. It's Disney largest theater seating area, and has room for an additional 3000 guests standing.
A 15 minute daytime parade staring Rafiki, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Donal Duck. The parade runs from Africa, through Discovery Island and on to Asia then back through to Africa. Characters ride on African themed floats. Guests are randomly selected to participare in the parade.
