Characters in Flight at Downtown Disney Closed 'indefinitely'
Jul 2nd 2012 at 4:54Characters in Flight at Downtown Disney has been closed following an accident in Hong Kong's Ocean park with a similar ballon. Five guests were injured at the Hong Kong attraction, where the balloon reportedly fell from a height of 20 meters. The accident was caused by a sudden loss of helium.
The balloon was supplied by Aerophile, the same group that runs Characters in Flight. They have opted to completely close the ride and fully dismantel and remove it for a full inspection. It's not yet known if or when the attraction will re-open, however its not likely going to be any time soon.
