NextGen FASTPAST testing to start at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Nov 29th 2012 at 4:12

The 'NextGen FASTPASS+' has so far been tested at the Magic Kingsom, but now Disney are now looking to expand the trial to Hollywood Studios.

From December 11 to December 15 2012, another test will be carried out, this time at both the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Each participating attraction has an RFID pole at the entrance, to enter the fastpass line, instead of handing a paper ticket to the cast member, you place your 'Key to the World' card on the RFID reader, and it will let you in. A cast member is still at the entrance to help with any problems and answer questions during the trial.

When you get a FASTPASS, it automatically adds it to your card, in addition to giving you the printed copy. Once the new system rolls out, paper tickets will no longer be needed.
