Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is inspired by rural Louisiana and sits alongside the picturesque Sassagoula River. Surrounded by the tranquility of the Louisiana Bayou, the resort hotel embodies the traditions of steamboat travel, formal garden parties and mint juleps on the front porch.

The resort is divided into 2 distinctly themed parishes: the stately white-columned Magnolia Bend "mansions" and the quaint backwoods "cottages" of Alligator Bayou.

One common complaint people have with the Riverside resort is that because its size, many rooms are a long way from the main resort buildings and pool, and as such guests have to walk 10-15 minutes in some cases.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside Transport

Disney busses run from four bus depots located across the resort.

You will be provided with a complete transportation map when you check in  which gives you instructions on how to get to all the different areas on Disney property. To get to the different areas you'll just need to make sure you board the right bus. They display their destination clearly on top, however if you are unsure you can always ask the driver or a cast member.

The Disney bus transportation system is one of the easiest ways of getting around. Busses depart from the resort to all the parks regularly and are completely free to use at any time. The bus services generally stop running once the parks close, and tend to run for an hour either side of the park hours. During extra magic hours they will run slightly longer.

Water coaches run approximately every 20 minutes. These run between Downtown Disney, Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside Dining

There are three dining locations at the Riverside resort:

Boatwright's Dining Hall is the resorts table-service restaurant and is themed as a Louisiana boat work shop on the Sassagoula River. It serves a range of Souther and American cuisine, such as Jambalaya, Andouille-crusted Catfish, Grilled Tenderloin Medallions, Voodoo Chicken and Blackened Fish Fillet.
