The Pangani Forest Exploration Trail is a walk-through attraction that takes you through various animal exhibits. On your walk you'll see troops of lowland gorillas, a large hippo pool complete with an underwater viewing area, a naked-mole-rat exhibit and the exotic-bird aviary.
The trail covers a 5 acre habitat that gives you a great look at some of Africa's most interesting animals. Some of the animals you'll encounter include Antelopes, Guenther's dik-diks, Thomson's Gazelle, Gerenuk and Meerkats.
The lowland gorillas are one of the highlights of the trail. All that separates you from them is a glass pane, and they are often sitting right in front of it.
Each of the exhibits along the trail have a cast member who can answer questions and point out things in the exhibit for you. Feel free to ask any questions, these experts will be able to explain in detail about their specific animals.
The trail can get busy and crowded, especially since riders from Kilimanjaro Safaris enter every few minutes. We recommend going through the trail before 10:00 AM or after 2:30 PM.
