An unofficial Walt Disney World news and trip planning guide!
Frontierland is a western themed land where you’ll hear the banjo’s playing and the smell of smoked turkey legs. This is the old-time wild west. Frontierland features two of the parks most popular attractions; Splash Mountain, a log boat ride based on the 1946 Walt Disney film, “Songs of the South” and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, where you board a rickety old mine cart and race through the mountainside.
Across the “Rivers of America” is Tom Sawyer’s Island, a walk through playground set on a relaxing, quiet island away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the Magic Kingdom.
Frontierland also features Peco Bill Café, a quick service restaurant serving a range of Chicken, Burgers and Mexican foods. Peco Bill Café is open for Lunch and Dinner daily.
There are a range of shops in Frontierland, selling western themed souvenirs such as cowboy hats and boots and Native American goods. You’ll also find souvenirs from Songs of the South at the Briar Patch store.
