We've had a number of conflicting reports about the Test-Track closure, due to start in just a few short hours. It officially closes today, April 16. However over the weekend we've been hearing from cast members that the planned closure may be delayed, along with reports that it would go ahead as planned, but have several 'soft opening' days during the refurbishment.
All that we can confirm is that the attractions re-opening date could possibly be set for October 1st, which will also be Epcot's 30th aniversary. This does make perfect sense as you would hope that Disney will hold some form of an event on that day to celebrate this special occasion.
We'll have to wait until later today to see if Test Track does indeed close as planned, we are expecting this to be the case and the rumors of its cancellation are only from a few select people.
Update, Sept 26 - With very little information being provided by Disney, Test Track's re-opening date looks to be later than first anticipated, with some pegging it to be during November. Given that a lot of work is still ongoing, this will now be the ikely re-opening time. This week Disney have been moving the ride cars from the workshop near the Magic Kingdom, back to the attraction for the electronics and interior to be fitted. No information has been provided as to how far along the refurbishment Disney are.
