Magic Kingdom to open for 24 hours on Memorial Day Weekend

As part of the 'Monstrous Summer' events themed around the new Monsters University movie, Disney announced that the Magic Kingdom will be open nonstop for 24 hours on Memorial Day Weekend.

The three-park all night party event is happening at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure in California. 

The park will be open from 6:00 AM on May 24 to 6:00 AM on May 25, 2013. It'll then reopen at standard park hours later on the 25th to allow cast members time to prep the park for the next day.

The Magic Kingdom will also feature a "Monsters university" theme, with Mike and Sulley as the Grand Marshals of the "Celebrate a Dream Come True" parade. They will also be apparing in Tomorrowland (likely near the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor. Extra entertainment will be on offer throughout the 24 hour period, including characters in pajamas at the Town Square, and late-night dance parties at the courtyard of Cinderella Castle.
