PHOTO: Baby Zebra now on the Animal Kingdom Lodge savanna
Nov 5th 2013 at 9:42This month a new baby Zebra was introduced to the savanna at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, joining other Zebra, Giraffe and other animals.
The new introduction is a rate baby Hartmann's Mountain zebra. These types of zebra are typically found in the mountains of southwestern Africa, and features a striking pattern of narrow vertical stripes covering its head and body. The species is endangered with only 50 Hartmann's mountain zebras in the United States, and only around 7,000 world wide.
Disney is well known for its animal conservation projects, with success stories of breeding several endangered species.
