Wishes

Wishes: A Magical Gathering of Disney Dreams is the fireworks show held on most nights  at the Magic Kingdom. The show is hosted by Jiminy Cricket and the Blue Fairy and is set both on and behind Cinderella Castle, with lighting affects complimenting the fireworks used in the show. The castle is also used to project the Magic Mirror from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The show makes use of speakers hidden all down Main Street U.S.A, so no matter where you are watching from you'll get the same brilliant view and sound. You'll love the pyrotechnics used. Disney really went all out here.

The music and narration go in time to the fireworks, which look like they are coming from around the castle (they are in-fact fired from outside the back park).

During the show you'll also see Tinker Bell, who flies from Cinderella Castle down towards Tomorrowland as part of the show.

Variations

During different yearly events, the Wishes firework show is modified. At halloween, the show becomes "Happy HalloWishes: A Grim Grinning Ghost Spooktacular in the Sky". The show is themed to the Disney Villains and uses halloween music instead of the usual Wishes soundtrack.

During the Christmas season, "Holiday Wishes: Celebrate The Spirit of the Season" runs, which again uses different soundtracks, with a christmas theme. Cinderella's Castle is decorated in thousands of LED christmas lights, which are used during the performance. The show also has artificial snow machines hidden on the roofs of the Main Street buildings.

During the summer, "Magic, Music and Mayhem" runs, which replaces Wishes  at Disney's Pirate and Princess Party, and features music from both Pirates of the Caribbean and classic Disney Princess movies.

On New Year's Eve, "Fantasy in the Sky: New Years Eve Countdown" runs. Wishes still operates, and then the New Year's show follows near midnight.

Watching the show

Wishes is best watched from Main Street U.S.A however can be seen from a number of locations. The California Grill restaurant located at the Contemporary Resort pipes in the music and guests can watch from the restaurant balcony. The show can also be seen as far away as the Animal Kingdom Lodge, however you wont get the sound of the show.

The music is also piped into the Ticket and Transportation Center. You get a great view from the ferry boat dock and still get to enjoy the sound.
