Pirates of the Caribbean the ride was the inspiration for Disney to make the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise. The ride takes you along a slow moving boat cruise through a pirate village, which was possibly the inspiration for the 'Tortuga' area of the movies. The village features many typical scenes taken from the Pirates movies, with drunken pirates lining the banks. Further along you meet Captan Jack Sparrow hiding in a wicker basket.

The ride continues taking you out into the middle of a battlefield with Captain Barbosa himself, shouting orders from his pirate ship. You may end up getting splashed a little as the cannons fire all around you into the water.

This is a fantastic ride for all ages, it is possibly the most influential attraction in any Disney theme park, no other rides have spawned such a successful movie franchise, which has then remastered the ride to be based on those movies. The audio-animatronics used are great, especially that of Jack Sparrow. The imagineers went into great detail throughout the ride, with realistic costuming and facial features.
