Disney have announced a new Phineas and Ferb interactive activity, to be launched at Downtown Disney West Side next month.
From September 1 2012, guests can visit 'Phineas and Ferb & YOU - A Brand New Reality', an augmented reality activity allowing guests to interact with Phineas, Ferb, Dr Doof and Agent P on a screen, augmented with images of the guest.
Guests will be able to experience any one of 20 different interactions, from dancing "The Platypus Walk" to getting caught in Dr. Doof's Freeze-inator. Guests can then digitally share a complimentary souvenir photo with their family and friends.
Additional Phineas and Ferb merchandise will also be available.
This new attraction is completely compimentary and will run through to December 1. Opening times are 2:00 pm - 9:30 pm daily.
Characters in Flight at Downtown Disney has been closed following an accident in Hong Kong's Ocean park with a similar ballon. Five guests were injured at the Hong Kong attraction, where the balloon reportedly fell from a height of 20 meters. The accident was caused by a sudden loss of helium.
The balloon was supplied by Aerophile, the same group that runs Characters in Flight. They have opted to completely close the ride and fully dismantel and remove it for a full inspection. It's not yet known if or when the attraction will re-open, however its not likely going to be any time soon.
Disney have announced that 'Car Marsters Weekend' will be returning to Downtown Disney on June 2nd and June 3rd 2012. Launched last year, Car Marsters Weekend is a single-weekend event, celebrating the Disney 'Cars' movies with a number of character meet and greets ,with Mater, Fin McMissile and Lightning McQueen.

A power outage at Downtown Disney has meant that several shops in the West-Side section have been forced to close. These include Hoypolio, Something Silver and Candy Cauldron. The cause of this outage is not currently known, however it appears that the Marketplace and much of Pleasure Island are unaffected.
This follows a similar outage that occured last month, no official cause was provided.
