Disney will once again be testing their NextGen FASTPASS+ platform from September 18 through to September 24 2012. A number of small tests have been caried out over the last few months, however with the recent addition of in-park WiFi, the next round of tests will likely be the last before the new system goes live.
For this round of tests, Disney are contacting a select few guests before arriving at the park to ask them to take part.

A character from the upcoming Disney movie, "Secret of the Wings" will be coming to the Magic Kingdom is set to begin a character meet and greet inside Tinker Bell's Magic Nook (locatedi n Adventureland).
The character, "Periwinkle" will be at the park from September 9 2012.

Disney shared a new piece of concept art for Ariel's Grotto, which is not actually part of the new "Under the Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid" attraction, but will still open later this year as part of the new Fantasyland. Ariel's Grotto is to be located within the base of the seaside cliffs of Prince Eric's Castle.
The concept art shows the grotto area, where guests can meet Ariel, and features a giant seashell throne. Click below to view the full image.

Disney yesterday closed Hurricane Hanna's Grill at Diseny's Beach Club Resort for a lenghthly refurbishment. The quick service location is expected to re-open on December 18 2012. Quick service dining is still being offered at Disney's Beach Club Marketplace, located near the main lobby of the hotel.

Disney have closed The Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney's Yacht Club Resort. The restaurant is expected to re-open on September 14 2012.

Disney will be closing The Magic Carpets of Aladdin at the Magic Kingdom from October 18 to October 25, reopening on Octover 26 2012. This is a minor refurbishment and it is not expected that there will be any noticable changes to the attraction.

Disney have kept their Winter Summerland miniature golf course and Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park closed today due to poor weather from Tropical Storm Isacc.

The Turf Club Bar and Grill located at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort will stop serving lunch from September 30 2012, to become a dinner-only restaurant. Guests wishing to dine at lunch time will need to visit the resorts other two restaurants (Artist Palette and the Paddock Pool Grill) instead.

Without so much as a warning to guests, Disney closed the Contempo Cafe at Disney's Contemporary Resort for a minor refurbishment on August 23rd. The restaurant is due to open again later today. No explanation as to why the restaurant was closed was announced.

Over the weekend Disney closed the Surfboard Bay Pool at Disney's All Star Sports resort for refurbishment. The pool is expected to re-open in late September 2012. Guests of the resort can still use the resort's Grand Slam Pool, as well as the pools at the other All Star resorts.
