Disney have announced that one of the Magic Kingdoms most popular attractions, Splash Mountain will be closing in early 2013 for an almost 3 month long refurbishment.

Disney this morning took down part of the construction wall in Fantasyland, covering the Enchanted Forest. The walls have been replaced with potted bushes on wheels, which is usually done if an area is nearing completion. It allows them to easily open the section for a soft opening.

After several months of closure whilst checks were being performed on the attraction, Characters in Flight has now reopened. The balloon ride takes you up 400 feet into the air over Downtown Disney, with views up to 10 miles.

Pete's Silly Sideshow in Storybook Circus opened yesterday, and we've got photos from inside the new location. This now completes Storybook Circus, with all areas open to guests.

Disney have confirmed that a special passholder preview for the new Fantasyland will be on offer from November 3, 2012, with registration opening midday on Monday, Octover 8, 2012.

The purpose of the third Big Top Tent at the newly opened Storybook Circus has so far remained unconfirmed. However can now confirm that this yellow colored tent will be home to the FASTPASS distribution areas for both "Dumbo the Flying Elephant" and "The Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini".
