Fantasmic! to gain extra seating capacity

Disney have announced that the Hollywood Studios late night show, Fantasmic! is to recieve an additional 1000 seats of capacity. 

Disney launches new Fantasyland teaser website

Disney have launched a website for the new Fantasyland, providing artwork, a map of the area and a signup form to recieve email updates. 

Days of Christmas discontinues embroidery service

Disney's Days of Christmas shop in the Downtown Disney Marketplace area has discontinued its long running embroidery service. 

New character meet and greet coming to Epcot

It appears that a new 'Character Meet and Greet' location may be coming to Epcot. Disney recently filed a construction permit, described as 'Epcot - Front of Park meet and greet'.

Cinderella Castle Dream Lights installation dates

Every year Disney cover Cinderella Castle in thousands fof LED lights ("Dream Lights") for Cinderella's Holiday Wishes. A crane will be on-site from September 16 to Octobber 1st for the installaton of the lights.

Studio Backlot Tour to close for a 6 week refurbishment

The Studio Backlot Tour at Disney's Hollywood Studios is set to be closed for a 6 week refurbishment from October 8 to November 16, reopening on November 17 2012. It has been confirmed that The American Film Institute Showcase in the post-show area will also be closed for the duration.

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids playground gets a second refurbishment

In addition to its already scheduled refurbishment from September 10 to September 14 2012, Disney have scheduled a second refurbishment for the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground, running from October 8 to November 16 2012. 

Initial reports suggest that an underlying issue that requires extra time to repair may be the cause for the additional refurbishment.

Gaston's Tavern signature items will be "LeFou's Brew" and Cinnamon Rolls

Disney announced via the official Disney Parks Blog that Gaston's Tavern's signature menu items are to be:

• "LeFou's Brew" - Named after Gaston's sidekick in "Beauty and the Beadt", it is a no-sugar-added frozen apple juice with a slight hint of toasted marshmallow, topped with an all-natural passion fruit mango foam. The drink will also be offered in a souvenir stein, pictured below.
• Warm Cinnamon Rolls

Guests being given previews of Enchanted Tales with Belle

Disney are reportedly handing out random free previews of the upcoming attraction, 'Enchanted Tales with Belle'. At the conclusion of Mickey's Philharmagic, guests are (at random) being asked if they would like to preview the attraction.

This marks a new approach from Disney, who have always traditionally done a 'soft opening', as they did with Storybook Circus. 

Avatar project possibly delayed due to "creative differences"

The entertainment website, IGN is reporting that Disney's Animal Kingdom AVATAR Land project has been delayed, as has the AVATAR sequels. 

The webiste cites "creative differences" between James Cameron and Walt Disney Imagineering as the cause. The article does not however say that the project has been shelved, but just delayed.
