Discovery Island - Animal Kingdom

Discovery Island is in the center of the park, to get to all other park areas from the Oasis entrance area, you have to pass through Discovery Island. You’ll find the parks centerpiece here, The Tree of Life, a 14 story sculpted tree, with a theater built right in the middle.

Discovery Island only has one primary attraction, which is located inside the Tree of Life theater; “Its Tough to be a Bug!”, a 4-D film featuring characters from Disney-Pixar’s “A Bug’s Life”. There are however two great restaurants; Pizzafari, a quick service location that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and Flame Tree Barbecue, another quick service location open from 11 am daily.

You’ll find a number of great shops on Discovery Island, all offering themed gifts.

Finally, the Discovery Island Trail is a walk through area where you can get up close to exotic birds and other wildlife
